About HelperCrate
Who runs HelperCrate, why it exists and how the browser-only tools work. No uploads, no signup, no paywalls.
Who runs HelperCrate?
HelperCrate is an independent project run by DaltOnline. It started as a personal toolbox: a set of small utilities for everyday image, PDF, text and media jobs that did not require an account, a subscription or an upload.
Why this site exists
Most free online tools work by uploading your files to a server. That means waiting for uploads, trusting an unknown service with private documents, and often hitting paywalls or watermarks. HelperCrate takes the opposite approach: every tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and standard web APIs, so your files never leave your device.
How it works
There is no backend processing your files. When you open an image, PDF, audio clip or video, it is read directly from your device, processed locally and saved from your browser. Where a tool needs a larger processing engine — for example an on-device AI model or a video encoder — that engine is downloaded to your browser on first use and then cached. Your files are still never uploaded.
How it is funded
HelperCrate is free to use. If the site shows advertising in the future, ads will be clearly labelled and will never receive your files. Tools and limits will not be hidden behind a paywall.
