Merge PDF
Combine multiple PDF files into one document, in the order you choose.
Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.
What Merge PDF does
Merge PDF joins several PDF files into one document without uploading anything. Drop in invoices, scanned chapters, contracts or ticket files, arrange the order, and download a single combined PDF. It is the classic answer to the message “please send everything as one file”.
Typical jobs: collecting receipts for an expense claim, combining the separate scans of one contract, joining chapters that a writing app exported one by one, or assembling a set of forms so they arrive in the right sequence. Each source file contributes its pages in the order you set, and every page keeps its original size and orientation.
The merge runs in your browser with pdf-lib. Pages are copied from the source documents — not re-rendered — so text stays selectable and images are not re-compressed.
How to use Merge PDF
- Drop two or more PDF files onto the dropzone, or click it to browse. Non-PDF files are filtered out automatically.
- Check the file list: each row shows the name and size of a source file.
- Use the ↑ button on a row to move that file one position up until the order reads the way you want.
- Click Merge & download once at least two files are listed.
- The result card shows the merged file with its total page count — download it and check the first and last pages.
Features
- Combines any number of PDFs into one document, with per-file reordering via the ↑ buttons.
- Copies pages with pdf-lib in the browser: no re-rendering, no re-compression, no upload.
- Keeps each page at its original size and orientation.
- Shows file names, file sizes and the final page count so the result is easy to sanity-check.
- Works with PDFs produced by common office suites, scanners and export tools.
- Direct download of the merged file — no queue, account or watermark.
Tips and common mistakes
- Add invoices oldest-first so the merged document reads chronologically without any reordering.
- Merge chapter by chapter, then fix a misplaced cover with Organize PDF Pages rather than redoing the whole merge.
- Keep your originals: merging writes a new download and never modifies the source files.
Frequently asked questions
Does merging reduce the quality of the pages?
No. The tool copies each page from the source document into the new one instead of printing or re-rendering it, so text, vector graphics and embedded images keep exactly the data they had.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Encrypted files are not supported. If a document asks for a password, open it in your PDF reader, unlock it and export an unprotected copy, then merge that copy.
What happens to bookmarks, links and form fields?
Links stored as annotations on a page travel with that page. Document-level extras such as bookmarks (outlines) and interactive form fields are not carried over by this merge path, so a heavily bookmarked manual arrives without its navigation tree.
Is there a size or page-count limit?
The tool imposes no fixed limit; what you can merge depends on your device's memory. Dozens of ordinary documents merge comfortably in a browser tab, while extremely large scans are better combined in smaller groups.
How do I remove a file I added by mistake?
There is no per-file delete button, so simply add the files again to rebuild the list. Reordering is one-way (up only), which is why correcting the order works best from the bottom of the list.
Can I change the order of pages after merging?
Yes — run the merged file through Organize PDF Pages to drag pages and save a reordered copy.
